CLFMI’s 2019 Summer Meeting at the fabulous Coeur d’Alene Resort is in its final planning stages, so now is the time to get your travel plans together and begin getting ready for another great CLFMI event. The meeting runs from Tuesday, July 9 through Friday, July 12, 2019.

If you were with us during our last visit to the Coeur d’Alene Resort, a) congratulations, you’ve been around CLFMI a LONG time, because it has been 15 years and b) be prepared for a completely new resort and experience. Since our last visit, the Resort has new facilities, renovated sleeping rooms, additional dining outlets, and dozens of other activities and venues.

Please make your hotel, airline, and ground transportation reservations immediately, and then send us the attached registration information.

 

The Locations

The Coeur d’Alene is located in the beautiful mountains of Northern Idaho. It is 40 minutes from Spokane International Airport. Transportation is available via shuttles and private vehicle services, in addition to rental car options. The area features classic Western scenery, numerous nearby attractions, and an outdoors person’s paradise. The Resort is in the heart of downtown Coeur d’Alene, which features shopping, dining, and other forms of entertainment.

 

 

The Resort

The Coeur d’Alene Resort is a full-service resort, including a world-class spa, a wide array of both indoor and outdoor recreational facilities and options, and, of course, unlimited activities on the beautiful Lake.

Members must identify themselves as part of the CLFMI meeting in order to get the special rates of $249-$349 for single or double rooms, depending on room location and amenities. Please note that the normal Resort Fee has been waived for CLFMI members, and access to the fitness center and guestroom internet are free.

You should contact the hotel directly to get quotes on upgraded rooms and suites, as well as additional housing options.

Optional Golf Outing

8:00am – 1:00pm

Coeur d’Alene’s “destination” golf course is designer Scott Miller’s vision of a golf course offering a stimulating round of golf, while immersing players in a pristine park-like environment. This scenic and challenging course features the world-famous floating green.

Noon-6:00 pm – Arrival day at the Resort. Check in to the Hotel, and check out the many activities and attractions of the area

3:00pm-6:00 pm – Board of Directors Meeting

7:00 pm – Welcoming Reception and Dinner – Taphouse Unchained

We’ll go casual in a private reception/dinner in the Taphouse Unchained. Kick back and greet Summer Meeting attendees in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, featuring a cycling-themed interior design with antique bicycles and cycling memorabilia. Enjoy the many food stations and climb on the “margarita bicycle.”

 

Thursday, July 11

Continental Breakfast will be available starting at @ 7:45 am, followed at 8:15 am by our Business Meeting.  The program includes Dr. Lynn Reaser’s mid-year report and forecast; a report on the status of infrastructure spending and planning; a look at issues facing the trucking industry outlook for the rest of 2019 and beyond; and a long-awaited presentation on cybersecurity. Committee Chairs will also give an update on CLFMI’s four Priority Areas.

Spouses and Guests Program

Playing with Glass – a journey into historic downtown Coeur d’Alene to Summers Glass. Spend time in their unique shop and create your own one-of-a-kind glass piece of art.

12:30pm – 4:30pm

The CLFMI Amazing Race 2019

Everyone will want to be part of this newest CLFMI tradition-in-the-making. Our Teams will challenge each other in a race to glory in the wide, wide world of gorgeous Lake Coeur d’Alene

Fabulous prizes (and treats) await the winners of each leg of this multiple event adventure. The overall champions will be determined by how well their team works together, how fast they move from one event to the next, how much whining they can put up with, and who the “judges” are.

Don’t try to guess what those “events” are- you just have to show up and accept the challenge!

We’ll journey to the beautiful Hagadone Event Center on the Lake for an evening of fun, fellowship, and some more surprises. Join your fellow attendees (well, all those who make it back from the Amazing Race) in a spectacular setting as we celebrate the achievements of CLFMI over the past six decades.

Maximizing Your Most Valuable Resources

Everyone – members, spouses, and guests – will want to be part of our Closing Program, which includes a full breakfast, a preview of our upcoming CLFMI meetings and events, and an entertaining, informative, and valuable presentation on how to get the most from ALL of your organization’s human resources.

Meeting Attire

 

Business casual is the universal attire for CLFMI Summer Meetings. Dress for Wednesday’s Welcoming Dinner is casual, and Thursday afternoon’s “Amazing Race” is athletic casual. Thursday evening dinner is “outdoors casual comfortable.” Evenings can be cool so be sure to pack sweaters, sweatshirts, etc.
